Day 1 . To Chennai
Fly from London to Chennai
Day 2 . Chennai
On arrival transfer to your hotel. Evening at leisure.
Day 3 . Chennai
Spend the day sighting visiting St Mary's church - the oldest Anglican Church in Asia, the 8th century Kapaleeshwarar temple in Mylapore famous for its ancient Dravidian style of architecture. Move onto the Parthasarathy temple in Triplicane, and then the Fort St. George and San Thome Basilica.
Day 4 . Mahabalipuram Via Kanchipuram
Drive to Kanchipuram, famous for its Kailash Nath temple, the first Dravidian temple standing at 59 meters high. Continue onto Mahabalipuram, a quaint small village on the shore of the Bay of Bengal, with intricate rock carved temples.
Day 5 . Pondicherry
Head to Pondichery and visit the former the capital of the French territory until 1954. Visit the old French houses and Indian bazaars concluding with a visit to Sri Aurobindo Ashram - Gandhi's mark on the sea shore.
Day 6 . Tanjore
Journey to Tanjore and visit the Brihadishwara temple, a master piece of the Dravidian art and the Tanjore museum.
Day 7 . Madurai
Embark onto Madurai, the oldest and one of the most religious cities in Tamil Nadu! Visit the gigantic Meenakshi temple with its fascinating maze complex.
Day 8 . Munnar
Venture through the mountains of Kerala to approach Munnar. Visit the landscape of Thekdy and Periyar wild life sanctuary. Enroute visit the biological spice gardens. Munnar is famous for its tea fields and family tea pickers.
Day 9 . Munnar
Continue to visi the wildelife parks and tea hills of this region.
Day 10 . Kochin
Drive onto Kochi, situated between the Oman sea and many small lush islands. Visit the Saint François's church, the synagogue, the Dutch Palace, and the Chinese fishing nets. Evening watch a traditional Kathakhali dance.
Day 11 and 12. Kerala Backwaters
Embark upon your luxury houseboat cruise as you spend two days on the peaceful rhythm of the Kerala Backwaters, visiting the canals and passing the rice fields, mangroves and coconut grooves.
Day 13 . Verkhala
Arrive into the coastal town of Varkala, and visit the 2,000 year old Janardanaswamy temple, the Ayurveda centre and the Sivagiri Mutt.
Day 14 . Verkhala Day At Leisure
Spend the day at leisure in this tranquil beach town before driving onto Trivendrum.
Day 15 . Trivendrum
Visit the Observatory of Trivandrum, Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Sri Chitra Art Gallery, Shanghumukhuam Bach, Kuthriramalika Palace Museum and the Zoological Park.
