Stalking the Tiger
This incredible wildlife tour takes you to the best of India's tiger sanctuary including Ranthambore and Bandhavgarh. Ranthambore National Park is spread over 400 sq kms of dry deciduous forest, a perfect natural habitat for tigers to feel at home in. The reserve is set in the Aravalli and Vindhya hills, and also known for being dotted with pavilions and is dominated by the Ranthambore hilltop fort. Ranthambore was one of the hunting preserves of the former rulers of Jaipur and because of this the Maharajas ensured the environment was preserved and the forest and its inhabitants are well protected, and has one of the nest preserved tiger populations than any tiger reserve in India.

Following a stop at the Taj Mahal, you embark upon Bandhavgarh tiger reserve for tiger viewing in a contrasting terrain with the option of elephant tiger safaris as well as the open canter option. Following two days of tiger viewing here, head to the UNESCO world heritage site of Khajuraho, which is popular for its exquisite carvings set in a complex of many temples. The temples built during the Chandela dynasty from 950 to 1050 AD, were left under the cover of palm trees for many centuries, leaving this site unknown until in 1838, Captain T.S. Burt, a British army engineer rediscovered them, at which point only 22 of the original 85 temples were in tact. This itinerary then moves back to Delhi for sightseeing the Old and New Parts of this historic city.
