Passage of Pilgrims
Varanasi, is believed to be one of the oldest and most holiest cities in the world, and a must for the discerning traveler wishing to see the spiritual side of India. The city is believed to be around 3,000 years old, although myth relates it back to some 5000 years ago, dating back to the Sumer civilization in Mesopotamia.

With nearly 100 ghats spread, Varanasi receives more then 1 million pilgrims each year, and famous for temples at nearly every road crossing, ranging from small temples for local daily local prayers to temples of Grand design such as the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, also called Golden Temple built in 1780.

Varanasi takes a front seat in India when it comes to fine arts and literature, with it being the home of great Indian writers including Kabir, Ravi Das, Tulsidas who wrote most of the Ramayana here.

This journey then continues onto Khajuraho where the famous UNESCO temple sits with its intricate carvings and historical layout. The trip then embarks upon the Golden Triangle segment with a visit to the Taj at Agra followed by a visit to Jaipur and then Delhi sightseeing.
